7 Benefits of Coworking

1. Better Mental Health

According to Coworking Insights and Optix, 47% of remote workers experience loneliness and isolation. Coworking spaces help entrepreneurs, content creators, and remote workers build a sense of community that they would otherwise lack.

At Uplevel Coworking, we have a bevy of ways to connect with your fellow Madison WI coworkers and actively improve your mental health. On Monday mornings, our Community Manager facilitates a 15-minute mindfulness exercise in our larger conference room, and a couple Thursdays a month we have the Work Week Wind-Down, an after-hours social event where members can blow off steam before the final work day of the week.

Register for one of our upcoming events, or see our our entire event calendar here.

2. Increased Productivity

Let’s face it: a lot of people are less productive when they’re working from home because their attention is split. Between the dirty dishes in the sink and the laundry that needs to get moved, it’s tempting to take your attention away from work and place it

One of the key benefits that coworking space members report is increased productivity. In fact, a GCUC study found that 84% of people who coworked felt productive in that space. Anecdotally, several of our members have shared that coming to Uplevel Coworking helps them get away from distractions at home or the clutter that’s otherwise surrounding them. One of our members even dresses differently when he’s here to help him separate “work mode” from other facets of his life.

Need extra accountability to stay on track? Sign up for one of our facilitiated Deep Work Coworking events. Our community manager hosts these events at least twice per week to help our members (and guests!) do more with the time that they have.

3. Curated Work Experience

For many remote workers, one of the biggest challenges about working from home is the lack of structure. By going to a Madison WI coworking space, our members receive a curated work experience. While all of our monthly members receive 24/7 keycard access to the space, our Community Manager is actively on-site most weekdays during standard business hours.

But it’s more than that. Our space is designed to be comfortable, but professional. From the business quotes that we feature on our felt board to the snacks we stock in our kitchen; everything is carefully selected to enhance your experience when you’re in our space. Our team meets quarterly to review which amenities bring the most value to members and get feedback about how we can give you a work experience (not just a workspace) that helps you do good work and thrive.

4. Networking Opportunities

As a remote worker or entrepreneur, finding opportunities to expand your professional network can be challenging. Becoming a member of a Chamber of Commerce is an entra annual expense, the events are hit-or-miss, and often the groups are so big that it’s hard to develop the intimate connections that you really want. Meetup groups are often more social than professional, and there’s also a lot of turnover in who attends those events and are part of that group.

So what’s a remote worker, entrepreneur, or content creator to do?

At Uplevel Coworking, we host biweekly networking mixers (virtual and in-person) so you can continue to get to know your fellow coworkers better. Event better, some of these networking events are open to the public, so you get to know even more people with whom you’d normally not cross paths… at no additional cost to you.

5. Exclusive Business Resources

When you’re working from home, you’re responsible for purchasing many of the resources you need. Sure, you might get a tech budget, but what if you need to print documents? Or if you need Post-It notes or a highlighter to really get the most out of one of your meetings?

One of the benefits of being a member of a Madison WI coworking space like Uplevel Coworking is getting access to business resources. We have a full-color printer onsite, as well as lamination services, and our members receive these services at cost. In addition, we have office and shipping supplies centrally located for our members to use or borrow, as needed.

And while coffee on-demand probably doesn’t count as an exclusive business resource, we’re a big fan of that amenity, too.

6. Affordable, Inclusive Workspace

Normally, when you rent an office, there’s a lot of expenses to consider. Not only are you paying for the office space itself, but you have to factor in other ancillary costs like insurance, maintenance, and utilities. Depending on the size of office that you’re looking to lease, your utilities could cost anywhere from $100-$300+ per month… not to mention WiFi.

At Uplevel Coworking, your membership is affordable. You don’t have to worry about multiple payments per month, unless you’re buying extra credits to use one of our shared spaces. You’re not responsible for paying any of the bills or utilities on time, and if you need your office wiped down or cleaned, it doesn’t cost you extra. Unless it’s outlandish, all you have to do is contact our Community Manager and they’ll be right there with a vacuum or a cloth to bring the sparkle and shine back into your space.

When you add in all of the amenities we provide in our Madison WI coworking space, it truly is more affordable (and convenient) to become a member with us. Tour our space today and tell us which space is the best fit for you!

7. Extra Attention and Care

One of the best aspects of a coworking space is having a dedicated person to support you within the space. Our Community Manager at Uplevel Coworking is there not only to brew coffee and organize epic networking events for our members, but also to be a listening ear and provide support and guidance. Think of our Community Manager as your cheerleader, coach, friend, and ultimate coworker — not just a receptionist.

When you’re spending time in our space, and especially as a member, you can be certain that you’ll have the emotional support you need to do good work and thrive. In fact, our Community Manager even makes it a point to have monthly one-on-one connection times with each of our members just to make sure everyone feels heard, seen, and supported.

Benefit from this support yourself when you join our community today.
